wvParticipantSo if you could go back in time
and redo the draft — Dak? Goff? Wentz?w

joemadParticipantI’d have Mr Peabody set the wayback machine a little further and keep Sam…..
DaK, Wentz would not have faired much better last year with the Rams……

znModeratorI like Goff. Before the draft I saw the advantages both Goff and Wentz had and would have been fine with either one, though they are different animals.
I liked Prescott too, but, they cut things back for him in an offense that was just loaded at every spot, so he had huge advantages.
I think the other 2 would have struggled last year too.
But it gets down to what kind of qb you like. And certainly there are things that stood out with Goff, in spite of (a) being a rookie, in (b) those circumstances. He has the quick release and can just make high caliber throws.
But he has to stop being a rookie.

JackPMillerParticipantI would have liked to keed the pick, and take Shaq Lawson. The Lakers had their Shaq, and we would have had our own Shaq. I know he had an injury with the Bills, but I liked his upside. I wanted Sean Mannion be our starting QB, and see if he could be the guy going forward.

wvParticipantFirst I wanted to keep our draft choices and draft Lynch.
Second I would have drafted Wentz before Goff.
Third I like Mannion better than Goff.
Cook and Dak were fall back options.
Still I think Goff can be a decent starting QB and I wanted us to draft a QB.———–
So you like Lynch, Wentz and Mannion better than Goff ?w

sanbaggerParticipantIt’s hard to decide that question at this point. They were on different team and different talent levels…so, hard to give an actual prediction at this point…that said, Dak’s year is hard to overlook.
As for Manion vs Goff…they can be evaluated against each other and IMO Goff showed he was already better than Manion and should only widen the gap this year.

InvaderRamModeratori wanted the picks and dak.
when they made the trade i hoped for the best and wanted wentz. they went with goff, and the more i read i thought maybe he could be the better pick.
as of now? i still would have preferred keeping the picks.
i’m not sure about goff right now. for him to succeed he’d have to overcome huge odds. maybe even bigger odds than when he was first drafted. usually they show something their first year. something… he’s shown flashes but not enough to make fewer feel good.
i’ve already started looking at qbs for 2018.
i like baker mayfield from oklahoma. i think he’s legit. if goff shows more of the same in 2017, the rams can’t hesitate.

vWait! Think about what you’re doing. Remember the LAST Ag. v. Sanbagger qb war? (?!)

vHAHA…no,nothing like that. I’m not anti-Manion and I kept a close eye (as close as I can on TV) on both during the pre-season and while I thought Manion was better pre-season he really didn’t do anything special and never really took advantage of his big arm…more a dink and dunker…was that play calling or him? I felt it was him because pushed it more often than both Manion and Keenum.
Of course they are still individual opinions even though we did get to see both operate the same system.

znModeratorFor the record, until I see different, I personally like both Goff and Mannion as talents/prospects.
I think this offensive staff is just what the doctor ordered when it comes to them both progressing, too.
