Once they develop a blood test that detects markers for CTE in the living, and they determine a high percentage of players have it, which I suspect is the case, football’s days will be numbered.
That revelation will change everything. Can you imagine parents letting their kids go out for organized football if it is discovered that 40 or 50 percent of current players are walking around with markers for CTE?
The game will have to change drastically or it will die. Whatever it becomes will likely be unrecognizable to today’s fans.
I think it would definitely affect decisions at the high school level and lower, but I doubt it would be the end of the NFL or even major-college level football.
I mean we still have boxing and MMA and all kinds of extreme stuff goin on.
It’ll change things, but i still think the NFL will be around for a long time.
