@MylesASimmons: Rams have relieved offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti of his duties. Assistant head coach/offense Rob Boras will take over as OC.

    Wow.

Well, I guess they felt like might as well give someone else a shot.

Wasn’t Boras like 1B on the hiring list this offseason?

I personally don’t blame the OC. What the hell does he have to work with?

I wonder if Kroenke had anything to do with it?

Yeah, how much of the problem was due to Cignetti is debatable. Is he a scapegoat or was he a real issue? I’m not sure. There were no complaints about Cignetti before Foles’ meltdown in Green Bay. But he wasn’t able to fix Foles either.

I wonder if we will see less of the stretch the field zone blocking stuff that has been such a disaster with this current o-line, or is that too drastic of a change to make at this point?

To fix the offense imo you need to get Fisher out of the control of the draft. He can pick RB’s but otherwise his offensive picks are abysmal .

Too little too late. 8-8 at best.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

    Sprinkles are for winners.

Seems like a desperation move, but maybe there was more to it than that.

I just know that I’m watching other games yesterday where quarterbacks were given as much time as Foles and WRs just as open, and were hitting them for big gainers. The OC can’t throw the ball. Maybe they’re blaming Cignetti for Foles’ regression, or at least partly blaming him. Maybe they think Boras can do better, but wouldn’t Boras be part of the problem since he’s also involved with the offense?

check out the 1st sentence on Cig’s Wiki page:

“”””Cignetti was most successful in implementing the most ineffective Offense in NFL History, serving as the offensive coordinator for the St. Louis Rams in 2015″”””

    URL = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Cignetti,_Jr.

6-10 would be an upset at this point.

Well, I for one, am ecstatic that Boras has finally ascended to his rightful perch overlooking this tire fire of an offense.

With Boras at OC, Foles and/or Keenum will throw for 350 yds and 3 TDs and Gurley will run for 150 yds and 2 TDs…

over the remainder of the season.

The league will regret ever hearing the name
    Boras.

Because he will bring such disrepute on the league with his ineptitude?

Rightly or wrongly, Fisher DID though. Blame the coordinator. You can see it in his remarks from yesterday:

(On how to increase offensive production)
“Coach is almost out of answers. My responsibility is to say, ‘Hey, I’m going to get this thing fixed.’ I mean we’re not efficient on offense. We have too many good players. We’ve got guys that can produce. We have an outstanding running back and we have a dynamic receiver. We’re starting to get a little bit better on the offensive line and so we’ll keep working. But it has to get better. It’s not good.”

i don’t think receivers are so much the problem as it is an injured and inexperienced oline and the quarterback.

if the rams can’t figure out the qb equation, not sure it’s gonna matter who is there at coordinator. the oline should improve with experience and health.

    Rams offense is bad.

Too many issues to expect much improvement this season.
