Segment 2 – Aeneas Williams 12-22-14
Monday, December 22, 2014 10:32 AMSegment 3 – Jim Thomas 12.22.14
Monday, December 22, 2014 8:42 AMDirty plays from the Giants, “the brawl was kind of fun”, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch joins the show, if there is no progression in the stadium then “all bets are off”, how will the stadium be financed, needs to be some type of plan b if the Rams leave, no relocation threat if Chip Rosenbloom still owned the franchise, long-shot on Kroenke buying the Broncos, could take a long time for St. Louis to get a new team if the Rams leave, funds need to be voted on by taxpayers, Rams need more corporate support, if the Rams won there would be more momentum to build a new stadium, bad deffensive game for the Rams, yesterdays game was “bizarre”, Odell Beckham gets “under their skin”, nobody celebrates basic plays like the Rams.

vEither way, last game, if Rams don’t make mistakes on special teams and in coverage–which led directly to 17 points–they beat the Giants 27-20. That’s with all the aforementioned problems in the post-loss multiplication of problems people see: run D, chippiness and discipline, below par OL play, etc.

I dont think we can say the “rams would have won 27-20” if
we subtract the mistakes. We have no idea
what the road-team-with-a-losing-record
would have done if the situations
had been altered. At any rate, Aeneas seems to think
a LB is needed and Brockers needs to be
evaluated. He’s not crazy about the Rams

vAre we in a board war? I need to know if we are. Cause if we are, I drink more coffee. If not, I settle for diet ginger ale.
December 22, 2014 at 4:58 pm #14502AgamemnonParticipantWashington OLB Shaq Thompson, 6-2, 231, Jr., 4.56: Boasting terrific athleticism, instincts and awareness, Thompson has proven a standout wherever he’s played for the Huskies, earning him the Paul Hornung Award as the nation’s most versatile player. While perhaps not as stout as preferred, Thompson’s fluidity, reliable open-field tackling and big-play moxie could earn him a hybrid linebacker/safety role.

I think we just disagree about the OLine
and Fisher’s personnel decisions.w

Maybe a Vet free-agent LB ?

vTwo things, I want someone who could eventually take over for Laurinaitis and I am less and less inclined to spend ANY money on FAs. They almost never perform to their contract. imo I am still drafting an OT, but Shaq is a LB that I would be ok with.

vYou know I was joking, right?
I don’t think we disagree about the OL…on that we may be parsing small differences. I just have this automatic thing over the years about people not counting OL injuries as related to performance. It’s my Niagra Falls. Or…one of them.

Note that every week the announcers gush over Lauranaitis and how great he is. Only Rams fans seem to think he’s just “meh, whatever”. I think he’s just ok. Nothing more.
I would like to see a real analysis on JL’s play by someone who really knows linebacking and who understands the MLB’s role in GW’s defense.

Oh, i did not pick up on the joke.
Year FOUR. I will be lighting the torches
and calling for Demoff’s Head early
and often next year if they dont
win double-digit games. Just so you know. Also, I want the equipment manager
fired. Just as an example.w

I like Laurinaitis and I am not looking to replace him. But, if I am going to draft a LBer it will be someone who can replace him eventually. I thought Ogletree might be that guy, but I have changed my mind on that and we could use another LBer anyway.
TJ Mosley from last year would have been perfect, but we had bigger fish to fry.

December 23, 2014 at 8:41 am #14550AgamemnonParticipant12. St. Louis Rams – Shaq Thompson, OLB, Washington: The Rams’ issues lie predominately on the offensive side of the ball and it is entirely possible that the club rolls the dice again on a receiver. Success in the NFC West, however, comes through defense. Thompson doesn’t possess great size but his athleticism and instincts have helped him stand out wherever the Huskies have needed him – including at safety, linebacker and running back. Plugged in with Alec Ogletree and James Laurinaitis, Thompson could help the St. Louis defense grow from merely talented to a top 10 unit.
