What film had the best twist–the one that blew you away at the end and you said: “Man, I did not see that coming!”

I think a good twist should be one where you can go back and watch again and say–hey–I missed that hint or, crap–how did I not notice that?

This was very easy for me because whenever I think of this question it is the film that comes to mind for me.

    FIGHT CLUB

I’m sure not everyone was fooled by this but they got me good. I didn’t see it coming at all. And the feeling I had when it was revealed that Edward Norton and Brad Pitt were the same person, was just like a shotgun blast of surprise. I remember grinning and enjoying that moment so much.

So for me–yes, FIGHT CLUB is the answer.

I will just list some prominent ones. Psycho, Vertigo, Chinatown, Planet of the Apes, The Sixth Sense, Get Out, Donnie Darko, Soylent Green, Usual Suspects.

I am kind of partial to Chinatown myself. The entire plot is confusing until you realize this:

    Those are all good ones.

Another lesser known film I liked was “Impostor” with Gary Sinese. It did not have the shock that “Fight Club” did but it’s kind of a nice slow reveal. I also liked the way they did the new version of “Murder on the Orient Express” although I knew the ending. Another Edward Norton film that had a nice twist was “Primal Fear”.
