Does anyone here believe we can beat Denver on Sunday? I don’t, and need someone who does, to convince mem that we can. Don’t give me this, “Any Given Sunday,” B.S..
November 11, 2014 at 6:47 pm #11624InvaderRamModeratormaybe. put hill back in as starter.
and if the rams can get tons of pressure on denver.
plus they’re playing at home.
November 11, 2014 at 7:10 pm #11626znModeratorYeah but–any given Sunday.
Rams have had surprise wins in losing seasons before.
So yeah they CAN win. Is it likely? Well, no…but they can win if it falls out right.
November 11, 2014 at 7:39 pm #11627ZooeyModeratorBelieve they can? Yes.
Believe they will? No.
November 11, 2014 at 7:39 pm #11628wvParticipantThey’d probly have to knock Peyton out
to do it.I’m lookin forward to seein how
the defense plays against the Denver O.
They might surprise us.The Offense is hopeless, now.
Ah well.w

I tend to agree with that.
Austin is a mess right now.
Dunno what Hill is.Course these coaches arent idiots.
If they think Austin gives them
a better chance to win than Hill,
then…..sigh.w
vNovember 12, 2014 at 5:11 pm #11722Isiah58ParticipantWhen the schedule came out, I pointed to this game this week as the surprise win in ’14. I’m sticking with it. Denver is on the third game of a 3 game road trip. The Rams’ defense is growing stronger each game. Rams coming off a three game road trip will play better at home, and defeat the Broncos Sunday. After, everyone will be questioning what happened to the Broncos, just like they did when the Rams beat Seattle and SF.

Good to see you on
the board I-man.Denver’s not in the NFC West
so the rams cant beat them.

Those fans, God bless ’em, they have witnessed some horrific football. Yeah, yeah, I know, Seattle. A blind squirrel is likely to stumble across an acorn eventually. Let’s hope they stumble across another one Sunday. I’m not holding my breath, though.

Switch Peyton to the Rams
and Hill to Denver — Think
the rams would win? Yes? No?Is it all about the difference
in QB ?w

November 12, 2014 at 6:46 pm #11732HighPlainsDrifterParticipantWhen you are talking about those two quarterbacks, then, yes, I think it would make a world of difference. Those two QBs are on different planets. I think a huge part of the Rams’ struggles is the play of the quarterback. The offense is very limited by both the physical limitations of the QB as well as the understanding of the game of the quarterback. Bradford’s injury was huge for this team. I think they could’ve overcome some of the early shortcomings of the defense with an offense that had a chance to move the ball, but that hasn’t been the case. Swap out Manning for either of the QBs the Rams have to offer up and things could have been much different, and could be different on Sunday. Instead of worrying that Denver might hang 50 on the Rams, I’d be much more comfortable with the prospect of Rams’ win. If you could make that happen, you’d be my hero.

Yes. If Peyton gets an off season with the Rams WRs. Sure. Peyton could win 11 games with this team, imo. Probably more.
It’s a QB only league. You don’t have to have a great one, but ya damn sure need a good one.

vNovember 12, 2014 at 7:06 pm #11738GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantYes, I do believe the Rams can beat Denver.
You put pressure on Manning and he is not nearly as effective. That has been proven over and over again throughout the years.
If the Rams can avoid the fumble or INT on offense and control the ball and score some points, plus play field position and good defense. Key being pressuring Manning and hitting him and sacking him.
Probablem with that is he gets rid of the ball very quickly. So, it may take some real exotic type schemes and blitzed to fool him.

did you think the Rams would beat the 49ers in Santa Clara or the Seahawks in STL.
Any Given Sunday always applies.
November 13, 2014 at 5:53 pm #11777sdramParticipantI hope the Rams win but I’m picking The Denver Peyton’s to win.
November 13, 2014 at 6:38 pm #11779rflParticipantI don’t think we have much chance of winning … for one reason.
Williams won’t be able to resist blitzing the hell out of Manning. And Manning will pick apart the depleted secondaries.
If Williams would trust his DL to get a rush, we’d have a decent chance. Especially with Hill playing.
But I don’t trust Williams.

November 13, 2014 at 10:47 pm #11785znModeratorfrom an article:
Fisher’s teams faced Manning twice a season beginning in 2002. Manning is 13-6 as a starter in those games.
November 14, 2014 at 11:51 am #11802wvParticipantSome generalizations about how to attack Peyton:

I think Peyton will be paranoid about it.
My guess is he will blow the Rams out. It may be over by half time.
I have no faith in Shaun Hill. He’s just another journeyman backup. Rams are screwed.

November 14, 2014 at 12:46 pm #11813GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI think the story of the game will be how many Bronco fans will be in the stadium versus Rams fans. After the events of the past couple weeks and the fact it sure looks like the Rams are moving and the story of Kroenke meeting with Mayor Butts of Inglewood the same day Tricky-Dick Jay Nixon was giving his presser, you may have the lowest turnout for a Rams home game ever. Unless of course they are there to see Manning and the Broncos.

The Williams D has been up against Manning a few times in the last few years. This kind of info is provisional of course because there were different personnel each time.
Tenn. in 2013. Wms had a hand in that D, according to reporters. Titans lost to Denver 28-51.
N.O. in 2009. Saints beat Manning Colts in the superbowl, 31-17.
Washington in 2006. Colts win 36-22.
November 15, 2014 at 12:04 pm #11873PA RamParticipantThe Rams not only can….they WILL beat them.
(Note: this is based on lots of numbers that make not sense and is really all about pure emotion but I’m sticking with it anyway).:)

vPlease, wv—I am trying to use hard numbers and cold calculating logic in my analysis of Sunday’s game. Football games are not decided on “feelings”. Peyton may indeed be the best REGULAR season QB of all time but remember one thing: He has to face Shaun Hill this week. That’s as close as it gets to playoff pressure. Don’t forget what happened in the Manning/Brady match-up
I am confident and cocky about it this week.
Manning can’t throw from his back.
