(On if Bradford was in the loop during the process of hiring an offensive coordinator)
JF: “I had a lengthy discussion with Sam, yes, prior to making the decision. It was part of the information gathering process. Sam was very forthcoming. He had some firm opinions. I really enjoyed and appreciated his input.”

(On if Cignetti would have been hired if Bradford had voiced objections about him)
JF: “We wouldn’t be sitting here right now.”

    FC: “As it should be.”

Some are taking this to mean that Bradford was part of the decision-making process.

I don’t think THAT is true…it doesn’t mean they turned an OC signing over to the qb. For example, if outside candidates came in, I doubt they would ask Bradford or any qb for more than just an opinion.

But the way I take this situation is, if they are going to promote from within and make the qb coach the OC, they are going to want to know if the qb is aboard with that. If for example the qb had a bad relationship with Cigz as a qb coach, then that might mean bad things for his role as OC.

Making sure the qb buys in is just good business.

And my bet is, Fisher knew the answer before he even asked.

People took it as Bradford having a say in coaching hires, in general.

I took it as Fisher saying you ask the qb when you promote the qb coach, AND it’s good if the qb buys in (cause it wouldn’t be if the didn’t).

That doesn;t mean Bradford even met Hackett when Hackett came in.

Enh. Its a non-issue for me. I’ve read some of the
poster-commentary on it, and its not real persuasive
to say the least. Just another example of
    us hardcore-crazy-ram-fanatix over-analyzing stuff 🙂

    Thats what i say.

And, he had a “lengthy conversation” in which Sam had some “firm opinions.” My guess is that Bradford gave Cignetti glowing remarks and also wanted to have another crack at a similar offense. Fisher would be stupid not to take Sam’s thoughts into consideration.

But, some fans just want to see Sam Bradford go away. And, I’m sure this type of relationship between Fisher and Bradford doesn’t fit well with those fans’ vision.
