Do the Rams have as much raw talent as, say, the playoff teams this
year? The wildcard teams in particular.
I dunno. I’m not seein it. I kinda sorta dont think they have playoff talent.
Mainly because the OLine and WR situation, but also the secondary and LB units.
If GRob could be a good solid Guard it would help a great deal.
If he was a TOTAL bust then, it really sets them back.
I would think OLine is McV’s top priority. Goff cant ever be good without an Oline.

I like to say 2016 was a perfect cluster storm of different things. Under those conditions it’s hard to say how much talent they have. It’s hard to say how much was coaching, how much was talent, how much was circumstances (moving…which Goff says was a problem).
BUT it is possible to think about the new OL coach…maybe that’s a positive. Maybe with Aaron Kromer coaching the OL, plus more stability, suddenly they seem to have more OL talent.
Kromer, while saddled with the war of the beach chairs, has done good work. For example in 2014 PFF ranked the Buffalo OL 30th; the next two years, with Kromer as the new OL coach, they ranked 9th (2015) and 11th (2016). Before Buffalo he was the OL coach in New Orleans. PFF does not have rankings for 2008, the year before Kromer, but after that season their line was not considered a top one. PFF ranks them 4th in 2009, Kromer’s first year there as OL coach. They dipped down to 14th in 2010 but then were 1st in 2011 and then 6th in 2012.
So that’s this:
N.O.
2008 Before Kromer, just not good (no ranking)
2009 4th
2010 14th
2011 1st
2012 4th
2013-2014 he’s a coordinator for Chicago
2012, before Kromer, ranked 30th
2013, with Kromer, ranked 19th
2014, 15th
Though with the Bears, again, he’s the coordinator, and not the direct position coach.
Buffalo
2014, before Kromer, 30th
2015, with Kromer, 8th
2016 11th
