Adam Schefter, ESPN NFL Analyst joins Mornings and talks about tonight’s NFL opener with the Pats and Chiefs, how will the Pats gameplan without Julian Edelman, the latest status of Rams’s Aaron Donald in his contract negotiations and the Michael Bennett incident in Las Vegas.

Donald starts ~1:15. Keyshawn provides static.
    .
Shefter basically says Donald wants to be paid as a FA. He says the Rams tried but they won’t give him everything because he isn’t a FA and has 2 years left on his contract.

Donald wants gtd $ front loaded.

We still don’t have actual numbers. On the surface though, I wouldn’t do it. I think the Rams would be better off to let Donald sit.

If the numbers given to me are accurate, the #Rams have made more than one very fair offer to Aaron Donald.

What’s your take on Donald’s stance here?

Show up, play. Team is much more flexible on money next year.

Rams have offered him a ton of money and now he’s missing games that count………. maybe AD doesn’t want to play in a 3-4 alignment…..

What happens when the Rams shut out the Colts 42 – 0 ? The starting D has looked dominant without him on the rare occasion they all played . AD is definitely the best at his position in the league now and maybe ever but that doesn’t mean he’s the most valuable. He is certainly more valuable on a team that averages 10pts a game than one that puts up 30.
