Maybe it;s me but I think I notice less enthusiasm. Meaning, among us. Us here.

I would say yes. Not sure if this team can compete against a real strong defense. We should beat the 9ers on Sunday. But this team will need to prove in our game that we can beat teams with a real strong front 7. Bears, Cowboys, and Eagles fall into that category. If we play them, it will be in the divisional round. No one at this moment, believes our Rams offense are capable of competing.

Well okay. I don’t know who “no one” is–the usual not that much in touch with the Rams national talkiing heads?

For argument’s sake here are the top 12 defenses Rams have played, and whether they could compete against them.

Bears. Ranked 3rd. Rams did not look competitive.
Vikings. Ranked 7th. Rams did compete and won.
Chargers. Ranked 8th. Rams did compete and won.
Saints. Ranked 9th. Rams did compete, but lost. Not the same as the Bears game.
Seattle. Ranked 11th. Rams did compete, and won both.
Denver. Ranked 12th. Rams did compete, and won.

    That’s 5-2 against top 12 defenses.

Yeah, my expectations are down. I mean…this is not a Super Bowl team. It just isn’t. Not by my infallibly precise Eyeball Test that has been studiously following football since 1967.

    However.

I will say that the Truth is that no other team in the NFL is a Super Bowl team, either.

So the shit’s up for grabs, the way I see it.

I don’t know if this is a fluky season of extreme parity, or if the rule changes favoring the offense have changed the game more radically than anyone expected, but…man. The Saints, Rams, Chiefs, and Chargers are putting up some sick offensive numbers, and usually there is only a team…maybe two…in a season who steamroll like this.

Meanwhile…the teams with Defenses have no offense. And the old maxim that Defense Wins Championships is probably under duress right now due to the aforementioned rule changes.

In any event…the past few weeks lead me to have lessened my expectations from Super Bowl, to NFC Championship game, with a One And Done not out of the question.

    I’m still optimistic….

    Yep it’s up for grabs…

    Rams need that playoff bye

Losses in Chicago and at Saints didn’t surprise me… each game they came back with a chance to win..

Saints have been extremely lucky the past 2 weeks

Rams bend don’t break defense has been breaking a little less lately

    GO RAMS!
