Terron Armstead, OT, New Orleans Saints

Armstead left New Orleans’ 51-14 win over the Bengals with a shoulder injury in the first half, which is a big concern since he has been playing terrific this year for the NFL’s top-scoring offense. It’s also a shame since he was finally healthy after dealing with a series of injuries (including a shoulder) in recent years. The good news is the Saints have an experienced backup option in Jermon Bushrod, who played well Sunday. The Saints play the Eagles at home next weekend. — Mike Triplett

    Ronald Darby, CB, Philadelphia Eagles

Darby suffered a knee injury in the second half against Dallas and did not return. Philly was already operating without CBs Sidney Jones (hamstring) and Jalen Mills (foot). Next up for the hobbled secondary? A trip to New Orleans to face the high-octane Saints. — Tim McManus

armstead is the number one rated tackle by pff. that could hurt if he’s out for an extended period of time.

I posted something a couple of days ago about the fact that the Rams know PFF’s top 5 OTs. They start 2 of them, and they played 3 of them recently — Armstead and Ramczyk (N.O.) and Bakhtiari (G.B).

The best analysis I saw of the Saints game is a vid by Baldinger who argues that what won it for N.O. was their OL. Many people argue that the Saints OL is the best in the game right now. It’s a vid at the end of this thread: http://theramshuddle.com/topic/the-malcolm-brown-touchdown-catch-is-an-unreal-feat-of-body-control/

It’s strange that Bushrod is Armstead’s back-up because in fact Bushrod started his career as the Saints LOT and then left in free agency, and was replaced by…Armstead. Bushrod is a Kromer guy, from when he was with the Saints.
