Fun time w/ @Skyeattolah today for a season ticket holder Breakfast w/ Kevin Demoff. Great guy. A few tidbits, which Kevin said weren’t secret (Skye, correct me if I get anything wrong)….We met in a nice boardroom w/ big screens playing Rams highlights. Kevin said Int’l Olympic Committee met w/ Rams in this room & were so impressed w/ Inglewood & meeting site they cancelled their other appts for that day to hang out.
Aaron Donald: some of holdout reasons last year included money, frustration with ‘16 season, uncertainty of new coach. But now, coming off ‘17, it’s just money. KD says they’re close, although there’s no hard deadline they’re working against.
Important to remember they’re not negotiating in a vacuum, lots of other players to consider. Said he didn’t think Khalil Mack’s contract would mean much re: Donald. Kevin laughed @ criticism that Rams are too young. “Nice problem.”
Uniforms (@MylesASimmons , shut your ears): THREE throwback games and THREE Color Rush games. Kevin said we can kiss the Navy jerseys goodbye. They’re petitioning league, again, for all home games in throwbacks…
New uni colors will be blue, yellow & white. No gold. Throwbacks likely blue & white. Alternates: some version of yellow Color Rush….
New unis: Rams told Nike don’t touch horn design on helmets, but give us a uni range, from super new to classic. Fan input will be considered through focus groups, not a vote like face masks/pant stripe. Colors….
They tried this last year but were denied. Now, the league understands the embarrassment of the Navies. New unis: likely 2020, but maybe ‘19. Coliseum has a lot of USC branding, so that’s argument for ‘20 in new stadium….

Well at least the corporate weasels got ‘that’ right.
When the biosphere dies,
and the earth is a silent dystopian desert,
and only iguanas and crows and zombies roam the land,
I hope a limping, broken-legged zombie or two are wearing proper Ram helmets.
Blue and White, preferably.w

vI feel pretty confident in guessing that approximately 17,687 people out of the 3,500 people they surveyed told them to fucking leave the horns the fuck alone.

Well, Nike shouldn’t leave the horns completely alone.
They need to make them thicker.
The thin, wispy horns they currently have are an affront to the memories of Tank Younger and Dan Towler.
Now THAT’S a set of horns you can set your watch to.

Yes.
But what they can’t do is get rid of the horns.
Or dramatically alter them and add other features, like this:

It’s a SKULL. A deceased Ram.
But…I guess that’s what I should expect from a 9ers fan.

It’s not a ‘skull’. It’s a stylized depiction of the head of a Ram reminiscent of the English renaissance.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that zooey kaepernick has an issue with a Rams logo, especially when it’s the most iconic logo in the history of sports.
