They had to scuffle, but Rams are going to be 4-2 for the first time since 2006, which also was their last .500 season.

Rams radio crew saying rookie Samson Ebukam got hurt on kickoff. Big ST contributor.

Rams go to Florida and improve to 4-2 with a 27-17 over Jacksonville. Next up: AP and the Cards in London.

New punt returner. Rams still struggling to field punts.

On a day when their offense struggled to move the ball against a tough defense, it was the Rams’ defense and special teams that carried the day. Special teams accounted for 21 or 27 points, and the defense allowed just three points in the Jaguars’ last 13 drives. Rams are at 4-2, matching last year’s win total.

Rams’ defense allowed 159 yards in the first three drive, then 186 yards in the next 11.

Jared Goff has done a nice job not turning over the football, but he hasn’t been able to do much through the air. He came in averaging 8.3 yards per attempt, but is at just 5.3 today. He tried a couple of deep shots to Sammy Watkins on one drive — one of them on third down — but they did not work out

Well, at least Goff no longer has to see Calais Campbell twice a year.

It had been a while since the #Rams special teams had made a huge impact. Guess today is the day.

    The @RamsNFL are…
4-2 for first time since 2006.
3-0 on the road for first time since 2001.
    In first place.

The @RamsNFL defense gave up just 73 net yards and 0 points on last 7 JAX drives.

Aaron Donald’s 20 QB pressures over the last two weeks would rank 4th among interior defenders for their whole season, now has 36 since WK 2

The Rams’ defense gave up 90 points in a 10-quarter stretch from Weeks 2-4.
In the next 10 quarters: 39 points.

Rams ILB Alec Ogletree, on the defense: “From Day One, I knew we could be a top defense. It’s a matter of everybody getting the system down and keep playing, each and every week, and just getting better in practice. I feel like we’ve been doing that lately, and it’s starting to show.”

Barwin: “It would’ve been miserable staying in Jacksonville having a loss.” …

Gurley, on Fournette’s 75-yard TD: “I blame Cooper. He should’ve never scored and made him mad.”

Donald, on recovering from 75-yard TD: “It’s a long game. If you let that hurt you, and keep thinking about that, it’ll be even longer.”

McVay: “Offensively, it was not good enough.”

    Julia Faron‏ @JFaron
Cooper is the 6th Rams to return the opening KO for a TD. Last time Rams returned a KO for a TD was CB Chris Johnson (10/9/05) for 99 yds

WR P. Cooper’s 103 yd kickoff returned for a TD is tied for the 3rd longest KO-TD in Rams’ history. There have been 2 KO’s returned 105 yds

Marks the 23rd time in NFL history that a team has a blocked punt & a KO return for a TD, last was the Redskins (9/24/15)

Only the 2nd time in Rams history that they blocked a punt and returned a kickoff for a touchdown in a single game.
Correction: Marks 1st time in Rams history

The only other time came on 11/14/76 when Cullen Bryant had a 90 yd kickoff return and punter Terry Joyce had one punt blocked

The Rams 17 pts in the 1st Q is the most they’ve scored in the 1st quarter of a game since scoring 21 points vs. Oakland (11/30/14)

Rookie TE G. Everett notched his 1st TD on a 4-yd pass from Goff. Marks the 8th receiving TD of the season for the Rams.

Last year the #Rams would have lost a game like Sunday’s. That they figured out a way to win is significant progress

The Rams are 2-0 with the “we got dressed in the dark” look. Why change what works?

    Dani Klupenger@daniklup
Robey-Coleman intercepts Bortles! I clapped in the press box by instinct…. (not allowed) *slaps wrist* but Rams ball!

Joe Berry FURIOUS with that unnecessary roughness call on Quinn. You could see his reaction on the sidelines.

    J.B. Long@JB_Long
On with us postgame, Sean McVay ticked by offense’s lack of production 2nd week in a row. @RamsNFL 4-2, but he’s already thinking Wk7 fixes.

    Lindsey Thiry @LindseyThiry
Todd Gurley was asked how the Rams are 3-0 on the road, “I don’t know, I don’t know.” But when asked if it could be the uniforms, he said, “NO!”

Gurley, on Fournette’s 75-yard TD: “I blame Cooper. He should’ve never scored and made him mad.”

I would leave the TV on if more players said crap like this.
