Most points scored by Rams through first 4 games:
160- 2000
142- 1999 and 2017
The Rams +37 points differential through 4 games is their best since 2001 (+74).
The Rams need just 17 points in week 5 vs. SEA to enter the team’s top 5 all-time in scoring through their first 5 games (159 points). 21 points would make them 3rd all-time (163) behind only the 2000 (217 points) and 1999 (183) Rams.
The Rams 1,547 yards through their first four games is their 10th most ever through 4 games and most since 2014 (1,571).
Jared Goff is on pace for 4,288 yards and 28 TDs. He would be just the 3rd Rams QB ever to have 4,200+ yards and 28+ TDs in a season (Warner- 1999 and 2001, Everett- 1989).
Todd Gurley is on pace for 2,384 yards from scrimmage which would be 4th most all-time by a RB. Only 10 have finished with 2,300+ yards from scrimmage.
WR Cooper Kupp is on pace for 56 catches which break the Rams rookie receiving record (Eddie Kennison- 54 in 1996).
Greg Zuerlein’s 14 FGs made through four games is the 2nd most ever by a Rams kicker (Jeff Wilkins- 15 through 4 games in 2006). Zuerlein is now 3rd all-time in FGs made by a Ram (126) and 2nd in career FG percentage (81.3%)
defense signs of life…they have a lot of improving to do, but they’re getting better in a few key areas:
– QB sack percentage (4th)
– Opponent passer rating- 14th
– 3rd down conversions- 18th
– Pass completion percentage- 8th
Here’s one for you I just looked up. Rams have not had a positive points differential since 2003 (+119)… Closest they’ve come since was -14 in 2006 and -16 in 2013. The Rams five worst point differential seasons have all come in the past 9 years.
A week after their worst game in a long time the Rams’ special teams rebounds really nicely. Zuerlein 7-of-7 FGs, Cooper 66-yard KOR, forced fumble and Hekker 54.0 net yards/punt.
By the way I know Cooper has brought out several KOs he probably shouldn’t have, but he is leading the NFL in KOR average (27.3). My own guess is he’s getting green-lighted partly because they feel they have an offense that can put together a 70+ yard drive at anytime….
