Well, not going to look at it directly, gonna have to work out those details. I have a friend who lives in Columbia, SC. He had a house built on a lake down there a few years ago, and we’ve never been there to see it.
Anyway, he wanted me to come down a few weeks ago when there was a Roger Waters concert, but I couldn’t justify the time or money. Anyway, going back and forth with the texts, he says, “You know, the eclipse is coming right over my lake.”
I told the family, and my daughter jumped up out of her chair and said, “We’ve got to go!”
I raised both my kids to love all things celestial. Took them out every clear night when there were meteor showers. It’s coming back to roost now.
We mapped it out; looking at an 11 hr car ride each way. We leave on a Saturday, get to hang out Sat night and all day Sunday and Monday with our friends (the eclipse is on Monday), then drive home Tuesday. We all miss two days of work. Big deal.
Then, the daughter goes off for her senior year at BU and the son goes for his freshman year at Northeastern. We’ll be empty nesters.
