IMO the old EPA was corrupted and influenced by political agendas and corporate interests which somewhat detracted from its mission of protecting the environment. Even so, it still did a lot of good. It kept big polluters from having free reign at least.

The new EPA under Trump is basically rubber stamping everything the big polluters want to do.
