It’s tough to evaluate coaches. Since we are not on the inside we can’t really know all the circumstances that lead to success or failure. And there is a risk with every decision a coach makes – there are no sure things. There is always a chance that any decision they make can blow up in their face. The trade for Nick Foles is an example of that. Although I didn’t like the trade at first it made perfect sense at the time. To me it’s hard to find fault with Fisher over that decision.

But looking at it from strictly a results-oriented ‘bottom line’ standpoint, how would you evaluate Fisher? Since he’s been with the Rams, in what areas has Fisher succeeded, what areas are still a work in progress, and in what areas has he failed?

    Successes…
Rebuilding the defense, increasing the overall talent level of the team
    Works in progress…
    The offense in general.
    Failures…
Finding a way to make Tavon Austin a productive player on offense
    Reducing penalties
    Nick Foles

More failures than that. I’d include drafting Hekker as a success since he has always produced at a high level.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

    Sprinkles are for winners.
