I think we all read the snippet a few days ago about the Rams sending out intentional misinformation about whether it would be G or W.

I keep that in mind everytime i read one of these media-tweets.

One wonders if the Rams are indeed doing that, and
if it might annoy the reporters after the pick is made
and the realize they’ve been mislead.

I’m going with the theory of following what OTHER teams do–how they react.

The word for awhile was that the Browns wanted Goff. The Rams moved up–they moved out.

There is no doubt who the Eagles wanted–Wentz.

They gave up a LOT to get their second choice. I believe they know.

So maybe the Rams are messing with all of them–who knows.

But I think these teams and an insider like Silver probably have a good idea. And of course the team reserves the right to change its mind so–there’s that.

    I just think it’s Goff.

Unless the Rams realize that Silver is precisely the right guy to feed disinformation to. Cause, he’s perceived of as an insider, which makes him a great conduit for disinformation.

But, “cdr” has a nice ring to it.

But I agree that “Wiley Varmint” is a nice handle.

The Rams have no real incentive to jerk around the Browns and Eagles. I rather suspect the Browns and Eagles KNOW, too. I agree with PA on this. I think that trade was telling.

I am going with the theory that they don’t know who it is yet. I don’t think there is a bad decision to be made. Wentz seems like a better fit in Fisher ball. Imagine what Martz could do with Goff.

Remember last year it was reported by Silver I believe that the Rams didn’t move Gurley’s card to the top of the board until they were on the clock? So all the scouts thought that the Rams had Gurley as a second round pick (because of the medical) and didn’t know how high the Rams actually ranked him. They did this because they didn’t want word leaking out of how much they liked Gurley.

What if they are simply doing this again? The scouts don’t know who the Rams really like because Fisher/Snead have kept their true intentions from everyone else except a few coaches? That would explain the disparity in rumors of who the Rams are taking (and could be a shock to the people in the Rams’ draft room next Thursday night).

North Dakota State HC Chris Klieman joined Alex Marvez and Gil Brandt on Late Hits and talked about what he believes separates Carson Wentz in the competition to be the number one overall pick.

Cal HC Sonny Dykes joined Alex Marvez and Gil Brandt on Late Hits and talked about why he believes his former QB Jared Goff is worthy of the number overall pick.
