Rams: Well, we’ve got Chris Givens for sale. We took him in the 4th. Tell ya what…give us a fifth and we’ll call it even.

    Ravens: LMAO! No thanks.

Rams: Well, now hold on, hold on. You guys need a receiver. We aren’t kidding anybody here. Tell you what….6th rounder. We like you.

Ravens: Who else you throwing in that deal?

Rams: Seriously? Okay–okay….look, we gotta make some moves here….give us a 7th next year…and he’s yours. Done.

Ravens: Uh…next year? Kinda need some of those picks for a receiver next year.

    Rams: Yeah–but we’re giving you a receiver…and at that price…it’s GIVING.

Ravens: Eh….IS he a receiver though? Kinda limited.

    Rams: Sigh. Okay…2017? A 7th?

Ravens: I….don’t…know…there are other guys out there….

    Rams: 2018!!!! Please…please…2018…a 7th. We gotta get something here. We’ll owe you…really.

Ravens: Well…..Harbaugh’s brother isn’t in the division anymore. Okay. A 7th in 2018. We could all be dead by then anyway…am I right? Hah-hah-hah-hah!

    Rams: Thank you!

Maybe that’s how it went. Or maybe the bidding started with a 7th in 2099 and worked its way down to 2018.

In any case…they woulda got nothing so…what the heck.

The trade saves the Rams $1,269,882 in salary cap space. Givens’ salary cap hit for 2015 was $1,666,257. The trade leaves the Rams with $396,375 in dead money. The $1.3 million in savings will come in handy next year, as the Rams currently have 16 players set to become Free Agents after this season.
