Insider Buzz: Fisher Believes Todd Gurley Can Be Better Than Eddie George, CJ2K

Bleacher Report NFL Insider Jason Cole is traveling the country and visiting various training camps to get all the buzz around the league.

What did Cole learn about rookie running back Todd Gurley at the St. Louis Rams’ camp? How does head coach Jeff Fisher feel about his young running back?

    But no pressure, Todd.

I can see the Dickerson comparisons. But I’ll wait till he plays a few games before I put him in that lofty category.

The Rams can afford to take it slow with him and I hope they do. I don’t care if he doesn’t play until October. Take your time.

They should be able to manufacture a running game with Mason, Cunningham and Pead(or if later Watts) until he’s ready. I am in no hurry for him to get on the field. It is a long term investment and I’m glad they aren’t rushing him.

i think gurley will be the best running back fisher has had with the rams. for sure. better than an aging steven jackson. don’t know about a young steven jackson. but definitely an aging steven jackson at the beginning of fisher’s tenure. that alone should be a positive for this offense. if he can end up being better than that, then it really gets interesting.
