In talking to two different media guys I am led to believe that the UDFA’s as a group have not performed well in special teams practice

They have shown video of Bates as a rookie and preached the route to make the squad but it’s not sinking in

Bradley Marquez in particular was singled out as lacking even though he has popped a couple of times as a receiver

And they are running the hill today

On defense Jacob Hagen safety out of Liberty seems likely and stands out but it’s a crowd in the secondary

Tre Mason is in full gear today

Mason still appears to be limited working on the side with trainers doing some running drills

Alexander still out

Chris Givens getting some work at punt returner

Gurley looks really good in passing drills

Mason not with the rest of the backs

Unit drills QB’s with the receivers

Tight ends now with the QB’s working on red zone stuff double moves.

Backs doing a blocking drill

11 on 11 Bennie bounces right and for the first time right side of the line looks good and seals the hole

All running plays so far

Really quick reps one run and they change the entire unit

Justice Cunningham with a great wham block in the middle

They are alternating a full unit then with half a line focusing on getting the blocks right. Mason is not in this

The new #39 tends to run straight up and down with no body lean

I saw a couple of plays out of the pistol

Defense actually draws praise from Coach Greg

Tavon motions right and the. Inexplicably tries to throw a block…by now he is south of St Louis

Last rep it was pretty clear Tavon did not know the play ended up almost on top of Foles after going in motion

Tim Barnes whom I have knocked just did a great job getting out ahead of a screen

Pistol formation again with Keenum

Play action the defense fails to account for Bennie who catches a swing for about 20 and then trucks Hagen

Two tight ends with Cook slot left. Foles looks left and the. Comes back right to Kendricks in the seam 20 yards

Isiah Battle does a good job staying with his block the rest draw Boudreau’s ire and multiple F bombs

Marquez motions left and “attempts” a block…way too high

Cook crossing route underneath a fly pattern by Britt goes for about 20

Bennie has looked really good today

Foles picked off by Marshall McFadden who runs the length of the field with Havenstein in hot pursuit

Pead on the other hand tentative to the hole and gets tackled in the backfield

Keenum master of check downs today

Matt Longacre a rookie UDFA out of NW Missouri State doing a job in run defense

They are going to do field goals now and that will do it for me tonight…have to pick up my son’s new car
