This whole draft is amazing. Here I red-bold all the players who are contributing either as starters, injury replacements, or role players on offense or defense. I count Corum because although he has not been highly productive, he has proven he could be if the need arose.

    2024 Draft Picks

1 (19): EDGE Jared Verse, Florida State
2 (39): DI Braden Fiske, Florida State
3 (83): RB Blake Corum, Michigan
    3 (99): S Kamren Kinchens, Miami Fl.
5 (154): EDGE Brennan Jackson, Washington State
6 (196): DI Tyler Davis, Clemson
    6 (209): K Joshua Karty, Stanford
6 (213): WR Jordan Whittington, Texas
    6 (217): C Beaux Limmer, Arkansas
7 (254): IOL KT Leveston, Kansas State

    Plus 2 rookie UDFAs:

    McCollough
    Speights

In terms of just the draft picks, that’s 7 clear hits, or 70%–and in grading drafts, a 50% hit rate is considered exceptional.

When asked about Puka Nacua’s trash talking, Cooper Kupp joked, “I know he got ejected. It wasn’t even a good punch.”

Expanding on this thought a bit… here is the Rams current depth chart with each player’s draft info. Green is a Rams draftee or UDFA in 2022-24.  We have done quite well in these last three drafts. On offense, 36% of the starters and 64% of their backups, but on defense, a whopping 73% of our starters and 64% of their backups.  On special teams, its everyone—100%.

Rams have been drafting crazy good.

    And developing the players too.

i’m a little more conservative than you. i wouldn’t count corum a hit quite yet. but yeah. they’re freaking good. after the draft i expressed some disappointment that they picked verse. i can’t quite remember how i felt about fiske. maybe i liked the pick but didn’t like the trade up. can’t remember. but if i didn’t believe before i believe now. this front office can identify talent.

the only question left for the front office and for mcvay?

can they draft and develop a qb?

goff is turning out to be a helluva qb, but they traded him. that’s the one thing left for mcvay and snead to prove. that and winning another superbowl.

i would also add that dotson was originally acquired for a draft pick. and williams was originally acquired as a udfa.

can they draft and develop a qb?

    just to add to that.

they’ve shown they can draft and develop multiple positions.

    wr – kupp, nacua, whittington.

rb – gurley (technically under fisher but snead was there), williams.

ol – avila, limmer, jackson (although he was a udfa)

dl – donald (again under snead but before mcvay), turner, fiske, verse, young.

db – williams, lake, johnson, kinchens, mccollough.

lb – jones, could speights be the latest udfa gem for the rams?

their track record is… well in 5 years time we’ll have a clearer idea of what they were able to accomplish.

but qb. that’s the one thing left.

but qb. that’s the one thing left.

    And maybe CB too.

They have tended to buy their CBs.

Another random fact you might not know: Penei Sewell [the Detroit LOT] and Puka Nacua are cousins.
