Braden Fiske may be an absolute dude. Coming out party in SEA. Caused 2 sacks + his production. Verse = rolling ball of butcher knives. Turner all over the field. Young forced a pick 6, got the block to spring it. Giff Smith is doing a great job with the young guys.

Every game the @RamsNFL’s young defense matures. Notice Chris Shula adding more complex schemes as the season ages too. The early season questions on D are finding answers.

I can’t say enough about the Rams rookies on D this season. Jared Verse is running away with Defensive Rookie of the Year, but Braden Fiske, Kam Kinchens, Tank McCullough, Tyler Davis, and UDFA Omar Speights have all been huge contributors, too. Amazing job by all.

    Braden Fiske —4 tkls-2 sacks-drew 2 holding penalties-6 pressures
Byron Young-6 tkles, sack- 3 QB hits
Kobie Turner-6 tkles, sack -3 QB hits-9 pressures
Jared Verse-4 tkles, 1 TFL on run play, PBU – a sack and 6 pressures

    Rams Bros.@RamsBrothers
Rams defense generated season highs in pressure rate (59.1%) and sack rate (15.9%) yesterday vs. Seattle, per @NFLPlusKobie Turner led with 9 pressures (season high), Fiske and Verse each had 6 (career best for Fiske).

Me (at moi.com): I redbold an especially amazing stat here, so the bold in this tweet is me not the tweeter

    JAKE ELLENBOGEN@JKBOGEN
Stats I care about more than “Grades”

    1. #Rams OL has only given up 1 sack since the bye week.

    2. Jared Verse is 6th in the league in pressures and 2nd since the bye.

    3. Jared Verse wins 21.9% of his pass rush reps which is 5th in the league

    4. Kobie Turner & Braden Fiske are 5th and 11th respectively in pressures among IDLs

    5. Jaylen McCollough is tied for 3rd in the league in INTs and he’s only played 81 snaps

    6. Kobie Turner is 6th in run stop % among qualified 50% of snaps IDLs

    7. Jordan Whittington averages more yards of separation per play than any WR in the NFL

    8. DeMarcus Robinson plays with the smallest average cushion yardage in the NFL

    9. Cooper Kupp missed most of the season and still has been 15% of the Rams target share

    10. Tutu Atwell still leads the Rams in receiving despite logging only 18 snaps the last two games and 14 in the first two games.

From NFL communications: Kam Kinchens recorded a 103-yard interception-return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, tied with Pete Barnum (Sept. 26, 1926) for the longest pick six by a rookie in NFL history and the longest go-ahead fourth-quarter touchdown by a rookie all-time.

I don’t have a degree in Geometry, but that was 104 yards.

    Enh, who cares?

That is not a play we can see too many times.

That throw was ridiculous. You can be in the School of Thought that believes Stafford made a terrible throw and got Lucky.

Or you can be in the School of Thought that Stafford is a Wizard.

The thing for me is that I have seen Stafford play quite a bit, and I don’t think Stafford is Lucky.

This play is one of the most striking passes I’ve ever seen. It looked like Johnson intercepted the pass. But, obviously, he didn’t. That was Stafford’s target. And the fact that Worrell is left with his pants around his ankles doesn’t change my assessment of Stafford.

The play’s the thing. (Act II, sc. 2).

    😲

The next post breaks it down to pure coverage snaps.

It’s amazing numbers. If this keeps up, or anything remotely like it, it’s going to be quite a story.

In 69 coverage snaps this season, S Jaylen McCollough has recorded four interceptions, one defensive touchdown, four passes defended, one pass breakup, and two incompletions against as the primary defender. His 0.0 passer rating against as the primary defender is tied for first across the NFL

He can’t do better than o.o?

I don’t even recognize this Rams front office anymore. Why don’t they go get some actual players?
