Black History Month is a great time to amplify Black voices and tell stories so that they may not be forgotten. This month, I’m planning to once again highlight some of those I’ve learned about and the inspirational things they’ve done.
First up is John Berry Meachum, a pastor and educator who dedicated his life to making sure Black Americans had access to the tools to learn and the means to find their freedom. #BlackHistoryMonthpic.twitter.com/V2MuA6VcBp
Shirley Chisholm dedicated her life to educating, and advocating for, the underprivileged. It was a mission that took her all the way to the House of Representatives where she became the first Black woman ever elected to Congress. #BlackHistoryMonth#WednesdayWisdompic.twitter.com/bFYUTpZPXB
W.E.B. Du Bois was an activist and a key figure in the movement for equal human rights from the late 1800s on. His work to stop discrimination and promote equality paved the way for the United States Civil Rights Act. #BlackHistoryMonth#WednesdayWisdompic.twitter.com/nF10a4PiVG
Kenny Washington broke the color barrier in the @NFL with the Rams, paving the way for players like me, and still holds a @RamsNFL franchise record. As a student of NFL & Rams history, I loved learning about the life and career of this Legend. #BlackHistoryMonth#WednesdayWisdompic.twitter.com/RLTuZTrTb8
