    I remember that draft, and I remember thinking the Rams blew it, and I remember remembering being right about that.

    There was a trade in place with the Giants…right before Dallas picked…but Rams never returned the call & Giants selected OL Eric Moore.

    Giants were willing to trade back…they were on hold until Rams declined. Don’t know the specific move up draft capital asked by Giants.

    To be fair, the Rams would have had to package pick #14 and #20 to move up and pick Irvin at #10, but it could have been done, and we’d still have pick #35 to draft Thurman Thomas. Just goes to show that the 1980s L.A. Rams won in spite of, not because of, our flighty ownership.
