Current information we have: Bills-Bengals won’t happen. The NFL is currently figuring out how to configure the AFC playoffs without that game. Could an eighth team be added to eliminate the bye week for the No. 1 seed?

If the Broncos were to hire Sean Payton, Vic Fangio–Payton’s preferred choice for defensive coordinator–might have to decide whether to return to a franchise that fired him as HC a year ago..

Fangio could potentially be in play in Denver as DC for Payton or Harbaugh. I now believe it’s at least possible he’d consider that. Faith in new ownership and big money could help sway him. Would be awkward, though, just 12 months after he was fired as HC.

After the Patriots 1985 Divisional Playoff victory against the Los Angeles Raiders, Sullivan was struck by Raiders linebacker Matt Millen on the head. Millen hit Sullivan in retaliation for Sullivan’s heckling of Raider Howie Long from the sidelines.

A number of details on NFL changes, via NFL source … 1) Bengals have won AFC North, will be recognized as such. 2) Several sites being considered for a neutral-site AFC title game. 3) Bills/Bengals, for record-keeping purposes, declared a no-contest.

The #Chiefs earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs, along with a bye and the possibility of hosting the title game. Or playing at a neutral site.

The Denver Broncos requested and received permission from the New Orleans Saints to interview Sean Payton for their head coach job, league sources tell ESPN. The NFL ruled that any in-person interview with Payton cannot be conducted until at least January 17, per sources.

Goff was the second most blitzed (166) QB in the league, yet the second least sacked (22) in 16 games.
