Was the Herbert play a fumble? Yes. Was the Mayfield play a fumble? Yes. However, one wasn’t called a fumble and the other was. Just ask for consistency. Can’t get it.

This is not the Rams defense we’ve seen most of this year. Run D has been stellar all season and they give up an explosive run on the last drive and then allow that.
.
If the Rams can somehow spoil the Seahawks playoff chances next week, I can end this season on some sort of high note.

I know some of it is just casual chatter, but the narratives that get kicked around on TV about the Rams “mortgaging the future” and “not caring about picks” ignores what should be discussed re: their lack of depth — a pretty dismal recent run of early-round picks they DID make.

Same situation all year, FWIW, and maybe the biggest “tell” toward future changes…Can’t rush consistently with four, have to send extra players on known pass downs, can’t match more aggressively in covg because of the rush (and leave more voids when blitzes happen). Cyclical.
rams today: 166 rushing yards 6.4 yards per carry but to what end? punt field goal punt touchdown fumble punt punt punt

The Rams’ defensive front on this drive includes Keir Thomas, Larrell Murchison, Marquise Copeland & Earnest Brown IV. You know, just like we all expected in Week 17 of their title defense season. In possibly related news, the Chargers are averaging 11.1 yards per play.
