January 31, 2022 at 11:51 am #135905znModeratorSafety @nickmscotty has made nothing but IMPACTFUL plays ever since he’s been thrusted into the starting lineup! His biggest play of the NFC Title game was this textbook pop over the middle on all world player Deebo Samuel. Just two players tough as nails going at full speed! pic.twitter.com/ApXs6c7gyN

January 31, 2022 at 12:17 pm #135912ZooeyModeratorOh, man. That pass to Blanton was no-look. Stafford was eyeballing OBJ down the left sideline the entire time, and all the WRs completely cleared out the second level. The closest 49er downfield was 15 yards away, and got cleared out by Havenstein.
How about Blanton? I sure hope that Higbee is okay, but Blanton reduced the pain of losing him. That guy was meaningless to me all season, but he showed up for the playoffs. Pat on the back for old Blanton.
And go Nick Scott, too. I do not miss Taylor Rapp.

January 31, 2022 at 12:37 pm #135918ZooeyModeratorI don’t think that was “a critical error from Jimmy G.”
That was my immediate reaction, but on the replay, he didn’t have a lot of options at that point. That was going to be 4th and 25 or something stupid, if he takes the sack there.
Anyway, looks like the Rams were there to usher two QBs out the door in the past two games.
January 31, 2022 at 1:44 pm #135927znModeratorGood play against cover-3 buzz. 49ers ran a similar one for Aiyuk vs Rams cover-1 robber in week 18 https://t.co/iewtvu3ap5

January 31, 2022 at 3:20 pm #135933znModerator.@RamsNFL stopped the 6 game losing streak to the @49ers for one reason. They whipped the Niners at the LOS; play after play. Stack & Shed & Repeat. Great great game by @AshawnRobinson #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/hT4R8D182T

January 31, 2022 at 3:20 pm #135935znModerator.@RamsNFL with Matt Stafford can do almost anything they want; especially on 3rd downs. @49ers do everything right here to win this down but this QB was just that good. #appreciation #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/JzS8eIZH9y

January 31, 2022 at 11:16 pm #135973canadaramParticipantThese break down threads are always my favourite to browse through after a Rams win. So thanks for putting them together, zn.
I don’t know if I just wasn’t paying attention during the regular season, but A’Shawn Robinson has stuck out to me in a good way these playoffs. Good to see Baldy acknowledge him.
February 1, 2022 at 2:11 am #135982znModeratorfrom the Dictionary of American Regional English. Bow up: to assert oneself, react aggressively to (someone); to draw oneself up into a threatening or defiant posture; hence ppl adj bowed up angry, belligerent.
"We're playing for something! It's gotta mean something to you!"

Right up there with the hit on Jeff George.

I have seen enough of Scott to know that I have found my replacement for Rapp.
I wouldn’t even keep Rapp for depth, actually. Draft somebody, or get an UDFA.

Rapp was drafted for a different defense. He was drafted under Phillips, played under Staley, and then under Morris. I don’t rank him very high but at one point he was considered a good pick and he actually had 4 INTs in 2021. But it is pretty clear that Scott is better all the way around.
It is interesting how different Rams DBs fare under different coordinators. If I recall right, Hill was seen as having problems under Wilson and then thrived under Staley. Williams was great under Staley and less so under Morris.
If next year the starting safeties are Scott and Fuller, that’s a good combination, and to get them, Rams spent a 7th and a 6th round pick. (!!)
No special point here. Just ruminating.
