Looks terrible to me, (like M2 and M3) but who knows:

I like The Matrix, a lot.

Matrix II was so bad that I believe that The Matrix was kind of an accident. Matrix III got such bad reviews that I didn’t even watch it.

Then I watched their TV show, Sensate8, or whatever it was. Started off really interesting, and lost its way.

Seems like these sibling directors have really great concepts that exceed their storytelling reach. I dunno.

And am I wrong that Keanu Reaves was a JOKE a few years ago? Like…terrible, terrible actor stuff, and now seems like he’s a saint.

    Media garbage, man. Don’t know.

Yeah, I think the John Wick movies saved Keanu. For whatever reason,
they were super-resonant to a lot of movie-goers. And it was not
his acting that made them popular 🙂

Ive never known what to think of this, btw:
    trans-matrix:https://www.gscene.com/arts/lilly-wachowski-confirms-the-matrix-is-a-trans-allegory/

“…Director of popular 1999 film The Matrix and its sequels – alongside sister Lana – Lilly Wachowski has recently confirmed that the films were always meant to be an allegory for the trans experience. She told Netflix that when the film was produced, the ‘corporate world wasn’t ready’ for more explicit queer movie narratives but continued ‘I love how meaningful these films are to trans people. I’m glad that it has gotten out that that was the original intention.’

Reeves is popular because he genuinely carries himself as a non-diva, grounded person.

He doesn’t have great acting range but he does the work as a solid action figure, in the mold of Charles Bronson or Clint Eastwood, but with a completely different vibe to him. That kind of credit was extended to him long before the Matrix or the John Wick films–he was seen positively that way in earlier films such as Point Break and Speed. Another Matrix-like role was The Devil’s Advocate. He also had a lot of built up good will from the Bill and Ted movies.

We’ve all seen actors like Johnnie Depp actually come through with great acting chops (until Depp became a self-caricature). Same with DiCaprio. Or Robert Downey Jr. I don’t think Reeves is like that. But he is a credible version of what he is (again, action star) and is a different version of that kind of thing than what we usually get.

Most of the adoring good will he gets, though, is based on how he conducts himself as a star off camera, in the regular world. There is a genuine grounded humility to him. That’s been tested many times and it holds up.

Yeah, I’ve seen several of those reports, and he seems like an above average human being, never mind a stand out among fellow celebrities. You can’t help but wish a guy like that well.
