    Seahawks fired OC Brian Schottenheimer. His offense set a number of Seahawks’ records. But after meeting last night, it was evident there were philosophical differences between Schottenheimer and HC Pete Carroll. They decided a parting was in the best interests of both sides.

    Rams college scouting director Brad Holmes is in Detroit tonight for his in-person interview with the Lions tomorrow. He’s one of a handful of guys the Lions hope to bring back in.

    Ed Dodds (Indy), Terry Fontenot (NO), Jeff Ireland (NO) and George Paton (MIN) are in that group.

    It’s funny how this hiring thing works. You have an ex-NFL player who has ascended to OC role of the NFL No.1 offense thru years of work viewed as unqualified or not ready for the job but a 30-ish OC w/one-year of play-calling experience is a hot candidate. Make it make sense
