It’s so interesting to hear how candid Shanny is about the Rams. My highlights:

1. Goff is as good as anybody on rollouts.

2. Everyone tries to double Donald but you have to show your team that you can still win one on one’s.

3. Staley’s defense is bend, don’t break and rarely uses one on one coverages.

4. Staley makes it more difficult to identify where AD will be than Wade did.

4. The Fangio style of defense that Staley employs is predicated on having game-wrecker type players. For example, if you don’t give up big plays and it takes ten plays to reach the end zone, it’s very difficult to keep Donald from blowing up all ten plays in a row.

5. The loss of Cooks meant the increase of Everett and Shanny thinks highly of Everett.

6. 30 runs a game is a winning formula but requires a team effort on both sides of the ball.

7. Sometimes Ramsey has middle linebacker responsibilities? He’d be surprised if Jalen is used just to lockdown Kittle.

8. I got the sense he has something figured out for his offense to exploit the Rams tonight. I also got the sense that he’s more focused on stopping the run game (make them more one dimensional) than he is in fixing his secondary. Surely McVay knows this and has some passing plays ready to exploit an over commitment to the run.

9. Mostert and Jimmy G are healthy but the analytics showed they were extremely efficient running the ball when the lost to the ‘Phins. He’s gonna try to run the ball right down our throats and we damned well better be prepared.
