Hill and RB Malcom Brown, who also had a scheduled session tonight, said that the team has had an open, continued dialogue about social justice and racial injustice, and that the organization and Sean McVay encouraged suggestions/conveyed support if players want to act.As far as I am aware, the Rams will practice on schedule tomorrow. However, all indications point toward continuing the conversations they started as a full team effort in the spring, and to brainstorm ways they can act with their communities to help dismantle systemic injustice.

Rams RB Malcolm Brown: “I’ve got to agree with those guys. That’s their organization, that’s their team. All the teams that are doing it, they felt like they needed to take a stand and I would be right there with them.”More Brown: “That whole thing, the (expletive) is sick. I just think it boils down to right and wrong at the end of the day. Forget race, religion, politics, forget all that nonsense. It comes down to right and wrong.”
Brown said at Rams team meeting today players were encouraged to come to McVay with thoughts on possible actions.
Rams CB Troy Hill on decision by NBA players and MLB teams not to play: “I think that’s big for what’s going on in the world today. With everything that’s happening and the way they just keep killing us. I think that’s a big thing.”

The people who claimed they weren’t watching NBA games seem to be the ones most upset about NBA games not being played tonight.August 27, 2020 at 7:33 am #120061znModeratorfrom https://www.si.com/nfl/rams/news/la-rams-terrell-lewis-out-to-prove-he-belongs
Terrell Lewis
Lewis…provides versatility because of how the Crimson Tide distributed his playing snaps.
“At Alabama they used me everywhere along the front seven and I was 10 pounds lighter,” Lewis said. “So even me putting on this weight, my mindset was, I want to be able to be a guy where a coach can say, ‘I can put him at stacked linebacker, I could put him at a three-tech — I could put him anywhere across the front seven — because he’s athletic enough to drop in space and move around and play in space, but then he’s also athletic enough and strong enough and powerful enough to play anywhere along the front line.’”

Ramsey has been a dominant force in camp, as expected. But even he has had some difficulty in covering rookie Jefferson who is more than holding his own against one of the top CBs in the NFL.

One of ESPN’s summer projects was to figure out the top-10 players at every position with the help of various NFL executives, former players, and analysts.
Now that every position has been thoroughly vetted, the same people, including author Jeremy Fowler, got together once more to discuss the most-underrated players in the league.
Among them were players who were consistently considered to be in that next tier, or that 11-15 range of these rankings. In terms of wide receivers, one of those players was the Rams’ Cooper Kupp, who broke out in a career-year following his torn ACL in 2018.
“Show me a matchup that’s been unfavorable for him,” an NFL head coach said. “I know DBs are always concerned about him. He rarely goes down on first contact, makes the most of his speed. He’ll show a lot this year.”
“Kupp and Robert Woods are one of the league’s most underrated receiver combos,” Fowler states. “Jared Goff took a step back in 2019 with an 86.5 QB rating after back-to-back years above 100. But a nucleus of Kupp, Woods, Tyler Higbee, Gerald Everett and Day 2 draft steal Van Jefferson should have no problems moving the ball. Kupp will be a catalyst for that attack.”

One notable football-related bit from RBs coach Brown: While the RBBC carry allocation will in a lot of ways depend on performance and scheme, some guys will have specific role. Describes Malcom Brown as a “one-cut, downhill” guy who will be huge in power run/short yard/3Dsituations. Coach Brown does expect there to at some point be a “lead back” within the committee, but adds that he believes this competition will be ongoing through the season.

Now that the Rams will use more of a committee approach, they could go four-deep on the 53-man roster and utilize each player. Darrell Henderson Jr. is a lock for the final roster, but his hamstring injury could sideline him until the season opener.
That may afford undrafted rookie Xavier Jones the chance to earn a spot on the 53-man roster instead of the practice squad. Regardless of whether Henderson misses two weeks or a month, Jones’ opportunities just increased.

Doesn’t mean a thing until 9/13 of course, but at the end of their first training camp — an unorthodox one, at that — I’m very optimistic that Rams found future starters in Akers, Jefferson, Lewis, Burgess, and Fuller. (Perhaps others.)Expect them all to contribute as rookies.

#Rams WR Cooper Kupp suffered a low-ankle sprain in yesterday’s scrimmage and likely won’t practice much this week if at all. Source described it as minor and it’s not believed to affect his availability for the season. More cautious than anything else.𝕋𝕠𝕞 – 𝕃𝔸 ℝ𝕒𝕞𝕤@TL_LARams
Low-ankle sprain is a strap and play through the pain scenario, so wouldn’t be a cause for concern going into he seasonAugust 30, 2020 at 2:28 pm #120201znModerator“It’s something I’ve prepped for my entire life. … I’m ready to go whenever that shot comes.” https://t.co/6yfR1bx4k4
