Observations from #RamsCamp:
đšNoteboom (LG) & Corbett (RG)
đšGood opportunity for rookies Fuller & Burgess with Rapp out.
đšFloyd & Samson at EDGE
đšReynolds steady WR3
đšWilliams & Burgess with 11-on-11 INTs
đšVan deep TD from Wolford
đšLewis full goAugust 18, 2020 at 2:17 pm #119531znModeratorThe scouting report on #VJ12 was that you could tell heâs the son of a coaches kid based on his route running & separation skills.
But his footwork… it might just be the best of any rookie receiver in the league right now. https://t.co/OL4vqygHFu

Ramsey on Hard Knocks
Ramsey: Where are your eyes supposed to go on your break?
Burgess: To the man
Ramsey: If you’re watching the Quarterback, you’re going to watch him complete passes on you.

“I’ve been really impressed with all these guys. But those two young safeties, when you look at
Terrell Burgess and Jordan Fuller, they have really been standouts the last couple days.” – McVay Eyes—

Asked Rams QB Jared Goff about his early impressions of rookie WR Van Jefferson, and Goff said it reminds him a lot of WR Cooper Kupp’s rookie year. (1/2)“He was just so far ahead of where a rookie should be. He’s done a great job, he’s really picking things up fast.”
more Rams QB Jared Goff on WR Van Jefferson:
“He’s obviously extremely athletic, but I think his ability to pick up the offense mentally and understand
the little intricacies of it has been really impressive. I’m excited to play with him.”Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
LT Andrew Whitworth helping coach up the younger guys with his coffee in one hand is extreme football-dad vibesAugust 19, 2020 at 8:53 am #119594znModeratorfrom https://theramswire.usatoday.com/2020/08/18/rams-camp-jordan-fuller-interceptions-video/
Jordan Fuller wasnât drafted as early as Cam Akers and Van Jefferson, and he doesnât fill an immediate need on defense, so expectations for the rookie safety are tempered. However, he already seems to be exceeding the bar set for him with an impressive start to training camp.
The rangy safety has shown off his ball skills, awareness and range in practice on back-to-back days with interceptions. The Rams shared a clip of his second pick, covering the deep middle of the field to prevent a big play from John Wolford to Jefferson.
Fuller made a nice over-the-shoulder catch, which isnât an easy grab to make for a safety.

Aaron Donald is an outstanding teacher
During a team meeting, McVay specifically pointed out Donald for being a leader. It wasnât a play he made in practice, but something he did during individual drills. McVay showed Donald teaching rookie defensive lineman Jonah Williams about technique on the side, which McVay says is a testament to his leadership and the team coming together.
Itâs an example of the type of thing McVay wants to see from players across the roster, especially in this shortened offseason. Donald is the perfect player for teammates to look up to, and heâs doing his part to lift everyone else up around him â and not just during the game by eating up double-teams.

Andrew Whitworth is a leader through and through
Whitworth and his wife opened up on this weekâs episode about their familyâs battle with the coronavirus as they both tested positive, along with their kids and Andrewâs in-laws. His father-in-law was in the hospital for five days, and Whitworth emphasized the importance of staying safe and trying to contain the virus.
On the field, Whitworth was seen coaching up rookie Tremayne Anchrum on technique, as well as tight end Kendall Blanton on blocking pass rushers on the edge. He may get ribbed for his old age â McVay said in a meeting that Whitworth is âgoing into his 40th season in the NFL.â
Whitworth is a key part of this team and the Rams are clearly thrilled to have him back for at least one more year.

Not surprised to hear the @RamsNFL raving about Van Jefferson. Heâs a pro.. Mature. High IQ. Polished route runner and dependable pass catcher. Heâs falls in line with the culture thatâs already established in the WR room with Woods and Kupp. Rams have 3 WRs w/same game DNAAugust 19, 2020 at 11:44 am #119619znModeratorâAfter that, I just realized that I belong and I can make plays in this league. Rams HC Sean McVay said rookie RB Cam Akers “has run tougher the last couple days.”“There’s been an increased urgency in him in the last couple days specifically when the pads have come on, and that’s been very encouraging to us.”
Rams HC Sean McVay also said rookie RB Cam Akers has “really been mindful” of ball security as well.
“He’s got great natural ability as a runner, I think he sees things. He’s got a great feel and tempo to his game.”
Rams HC Sean McVay says teams’ two scrimmages at Sofi Stadium will take place Aug. 22 and Aug. 29. 8/22 scrimmage will kick off around 5 p.m. PT, similar to season-opener vs. Dallas.
“We’ll try to mimic and emulate a game-like setting as possible in those two opportunities.”
Regarding other purposes of scrimmages, McVay said “a little bit of both” as far as more physicality and getting acclimated to new stadium.
