last week the rams blitzed cards’ qbs a whopping 63% of the time, and in the last 3 games have blitzed qbs an average of 54% of the time, both huge numbers. for the year the rams are at 44%. conversely manning has only been blitzed 24% of the time, the 6th lowest rate among the top 37 qbs, who have been blitzed an average of 29% of the time. manning, no surprise here, has done a nice job when blitzed, but his completion and qb rating numbers are considerably lower when blitzed vs when not blitzed.
here’s a look at how qbs have fared against the rams when blitzed and when not blitzed (might have to slide over to see the not blitzed section). all told, the numbers are pretty disappointing, especially in terms of completion % and qb rating allowed. btw, 9 of the rams sacks have come on blitzes while 8 have come when not blitzing:

and here’s a look at how the rams have fared when they’ve pressured the qb and when they haven’t – also included are manning’s numbers and the cumulative average for the 37 top qbs. manning’s numbers, as is the case for just about every qb, take a big hit when he’s pressured, when compared to his numbers when he’s not pressured. so if you can get to him, apply pressure, you have a fighting chance. the problem is he’s d@@#n hard to pressure, he ranks first among he top 37 qbs in least amount of qb pressure faced. and he ranked first last year and the year before.
the seahwks and patriots have arguably done the best job against manning this season, they’ve applied the 2nd and 3rd most pressure he’s seen this year while blitzing just 18% and 14% of the time (respectively):
