His defense played awfully good in the three most important games last year — the Playoff games: Cowboys, Saints, Patriots.

All that experience. All that knowledge. All that success.

And yet, apparently, McVay thinks he didnt do enough. McVay wants more. More flexibility on defense. More Adjustments to different offenses.

What do we think of the job Wade did in his three years?

I’m conflicted. I can sorta see both sides.

It may not matter that much. It pales in significance compared to the OLine issue.

yeah. i’m not sure where this came from.

did it come from mcvay. i assume so. how do we know if it’s the right decision? this isn’t some grizzled veteran coach. mcvay has three years experience. he’ll be 34 in a couple weeks. and i’m sure he’s consulted with family and colleagues.

this is the first time i’ve wondered if mcvay has made the right decision.

ultimately though they had to move on from sonofbum. maybe this was mcvay’s way of letting him down easy? i do think if he was still under contract that mcvay would have kept him.

I think it’s a judgment call–yes the playoffs were good, but then the 40+ point games in 2019 were not. That’s on McV to decide whether to fix what he has with who he has, or, start over with a new approach.

I am conflicted too but if the new DC works out, there’s nothin to complain about I guess.

also i think phillips did a good job.

especially considering all the changes going on at defensive back. the lack of edge rushers. yeah. he did more than a good job.

We will see what he does in Cleveland? I heard he will be the new Browns Defensive Coordinator.
