I have Kittle on my Fantasy Football team, and he’s banged up, so I had to search for a replacement. Stumbled upon Mike Gesicki, from Penn State, and currently playing for the Dolphins.
The kid is the ultimate freakish TE, going beyond Gronk . . . at least in the Combine testing. Who knows if he can actually play the game on Sundays, but if you could design a TE in a laboratory, this is what you’d come up with (Sorry for the bad formatting):
From his Wiki page:
Ht Wt Arm length Hand size 40-yard dash 10-yd split 20-yd split 20-ss 3-cone Vert jump Broad BP
6 ft 5 1⁄2 in
(1.97 m) 247 lb
(112 kg) 34 1⁄8 in
(0.87 m) 10 1⁄4 in
(0.26 m) 4.54 s 1.56 s 2.65 s 4.10 s 6.76 s 41 1⁄2 in
(1.05 m) 10 ft 9 in
(3.28 m) 22 reps
The only area one could say needs some work is his strength. But that’s what they have NFL weight-training programs for. You can’t teach height, or hand-size, and his quickness is off the charts, as are his vert and his broad jump.
His 3-cone and 10-yard split times would be seriously good for a wideout or a DB, and he’s more than 6 foot 5 and nearly 250 pounds!
Sheesh. His testing would translate to an amazing DE or edge guy too.
I wish the Rams had him, coached him up, etc. etc.
