ModeratorSo far this season, these teams have been the best at keeping their offensive drives alive without going 3 and out. #WeAreTexans #Saints #DallasCowboys #OnePride #Colts #BoltUp #InBrotherhood #ChiefsKingdom #RavensFlock #GoNiners #LARams @gregcosell | @MattBowen41 pic.twitter.com/CB4Pr45Uxl

ModeratorLos Angeles Chargers owner Dean Spanos has pushed back against a report the team would consider relocating to London.
“It’s total f–kin bulls–t,” Spanos told reporters Tuesday. “We’re not going to London. We’re not going anywhere. We’re playing in Los Angeles. This is our home, and this is where we are planning to be for a long f—king time. Period.”

Will the #LARams ignite their running game in the back half of the schedule? The oddity is they’ve already faced defenses ranked 32, 29, 22, 21, and 20 against the run (DVOA). So while I’d like to believe they will…

Sean McVay said Brandin Cooks has NOT cleared concussion protocol yetCooks is out this week vs. Pittsburgh
J.B. Long@JB_Long
Unlike with Cooper Kupp’s injury in 2018, the silver lining to Brandin Cooks being out is that Josh Reynolds can play his role (albeit, differently).
Whereas last year, the #LARams took a step back at two positions (Woods covering for Kupp in the slot; Reynolds for Woods).
Also sounds like barring any setbacks in practice this week, #LARams expect OLB Clay Matthews and RB Malcolm Brown back for Week 10 at PIT.

In 2003 the Rams traveled to a wet and rainy Pittsburgh to defeat the Steelers 33-21. @BigGame81 Torry Holt had 174 yards and a TD. This spectacular catch was on a 3rd and 23 pic.twitter.com/AuG609Ggwh

“Never realized how I much I enjoyed eating until you have your mouth wired shut,” Matthews said. “But it was one of those ones that sucks, no doubt about it. Not only being hurt, but you don’t realize how much you use your mouth every day, having your mouth wired shut. Especially when your kids don’t listen to you, but that’s another story.”
…
From there, it was a matter of sticking to a straightforward rehab program.“And then once it came off, obviously it just took a long time, as it does with any kind of broken extremity, to get those muscles firing and stuff. Eating, chilling, talking, doing exercises with jaw mobility is the best thing I could do.”
Matthews has endured his fair share of injuries: A broken nose during a charity softball game in the summer of 2018, breaking his thumb twice in three months during the 2013 season, an ankle and a hamstring in 2016. This one, though, was different.
“Obviously I’ve never experienced this before and it was very much a freak injury,” Matthews said. “Unfortunate, but hopefully we can put it all past us now and move forward without any more hiccups.”

And, according to PFR stats, Rams are 2nd in the league in missed tackles.

MOST DEFENSIVE RANKINGS RISE AFTER BYE WEEKIn our midseason recap, we highlighted how well the defense graded out in four of the five categories evaluated by PFF. Even with the bye week, that’s still the case – and in some instances, its rankings rose.
L.A.’s defense stands as the fourth-highest graded overall defense entering Week 10 after entering the bye week at fifth. Its run defense moved up one spot, from seventh to sixth, while its coverage moved down one spot from seventh to eighth. Its pass rush remained at third.
Regardless of the movement, the point remains that the Rams’ defense is still a top 10 unit even with the performances across the league in Week 9.

ModeratorMy favorite Rams/Steelers moment was this vintage toe tapping @IsaacBruce80 touchdown in 2007. It was significant because this was his last TD and final home game in his great 14 year Rams tenure. ModeratorALBERT BREER: https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/11/07/nfl-midseason-report-2019-awards-coaches-trends
What trend is happening in the NFL right now that no one is talking about?
“The lack of NFL level offensive linemen and the return of the run game/running back—with all the fantasy football and rules being made to get points up and passing yardage up, there are not enough offensive tackles for 32 teams to have at least two NFL level starters to execute the passing game at an efficient enough level to win being a “passing, greatest show on turf” type of offense. Still have to run to win. The offensive minded coaches that know how to devise ways to run the ball with lesser talent in the offensive line or when their front line OL are out are the guys that give their guys the best chance to win.”

Gurley is 25, born in 94. Browns moved and became the Ravens in 1996. So if he got into pro football as young as 8, the Ravens would have existed for 6 years, and were already a superbowl winner.

The overall ranking for L.A.’s offense dropped one spot from 16th to 17th, but its run game remained in the top nine, sharing ninth with the Saints.
They’ll get a good test in Pittsburgh this week against the league’s second-highest graded defense in the Steelers.

Rams RB Todd Gurley is eager to play Sunday at Heinz Field for the first time. “I grew up a Ravens fan, so I never liked the Steelers. I’m looking forward to it, it’s like one of those places like Green Bay, Dallas, Chicago, Pittsburgh – those are like the main teams to start the NFL,” Gurley said. “I’m looking forward to going up there and playing against a hard-nosed defense. That’s always been their philosophy to be all about the ball and all about defense.” -
