The Ravens/Rams trade is more about getting rid of players than thinking they are improving their team. Young was killing the Ravens and did not dress vs Pitt. Peters is easier to trade then bench and I am sure the Rams defensive coaches are happy to see him gone.Albert Breer@AlbertBreer
Source says the Rams are sending a 2021 Day 3 pick to the Browns for OL Austin Corbett. Corbett was the 33rd pick in the 2018 draft.Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter
As part of the Marcus Peters-for-Kenny Young trade, the Rams also received a 5th-round pick, per source. Rams would have gotten a 2021 3rd- or 4th-round comp pick for Peters…so instead they get a 5th a year earlier, and a young player they liked last year – and saved money.Vincent Bonsignore@VinnyBonsignore
#Rams can take on more salary if they want, now, but sense I’m getting is that wasn’t the main objective of the trade. Some insight on #Rams moving on from Marcus Peters: They are encouraged by play of Troy Hill and really like their younger corners and want to see them play
Hard to believe #Rams are done addressing the roster. Feel like trading Marcus Peters this is part of a bigger deal
In LB Kenny Young, they are essentially getting the comp pick they would have gotten had Peters walked as a free agent.

I’ll say this: If you think the Rams are “packing it in”, you’re wrong. Trading an under-performing CB who’s a free agent in a few months isn’t a “pack it in” move. I think it’s the opposite, actually. Go make a move that’ll make a BIG difference and potentially spark something.DOWNTOWN RAMS [DTR]@DowntownRams
This is a massive trade. We saw Corbett in Mobile when we were out there for the Senior Bowl. Good interior OL prospect. His issue was when they placed him at tackle. Stick him into the interior and let him do work.Cameron DaSilva@camdasilva

Marcus Peters makes it the 7th DB since Demoff/Pastoors took over contract negotiations that they didn’t re-sign (Nickell Robey-Coleman re-signed as slot corner):Darian Stewart

So Marcus Peters has been traded by Andy Reid and now Sean McVay/Wade Phillips. Maybe the Rams traded him because they can get value instead of him walking in free agency… or maybe (and both could be true) he freelances way too much on defense and it hurts their team.October 15, 2019 at 6:11 pm #106736

One note, re: Peters/Rams.
Org loved him, caused zero problems. Wasn’t a personality thing, here. Wanted to go young and player was in contract year. Trade was to a 4-2 team viewed as a top org. Good for both sides.October 15, 2019 at 6:59 pm #106746
znModeratorI don’t know what the Rams’ plan is at CB, but it’ll either involve Hill and Long/Williams starting, or a CB in a trade https://t.co/DxiqQ7QxFS

Rams did play business of football well with Marcus Peters. Acquired him after Chiefs paid him a $5.3M bonus, had him for $1.7M last year, $2M this year and now Ravens deal with $4M left this year and pending free agency.TurfShowTimes@TurfShowTimes
Reminder that the Rams traded a 2018 4th and 2019 2nd for Peters. That latter pick would be a rookie this year cost controlled through 2022.

The story ain’t so much about what Marcus Peters did or didn’t do, its going to be about what Darious Williams can get done.October 15, 2019 at 10:09 pm #106768

I understand the Rams acting with urgency in belief that their window is open now. But boy, that is one top heavy roster and trading away more premium picks sure isn’t gonna help balance it. Especially given the offensive line situation.October 16, 2019 at 9:50 am #106783

Just like I didn’t like the Khalil Mack deal for Raiders. I don’t like the Ramsey deal for Jaguars. You keep special players.Sosa K@QBsMVP
@PSchrags just said the Rams would’ve made the Jalen Ramsey trade if they were 6-0, 3-3, or 0-6. That’s how they view him. Interesting.—

znModeratorthe Rams currently have the 7th most efficient rushing attack in the NFL, per @fboutsiders. 20th in pass defense.https://t.co/geBVXbX2GX
