Aaron Donald (12), Dante Fowler (11) and Michael Brockers (8) all rank in the top 8 in QB hurries this season. They only have 4.0 sacks combined, though.

#Rams downgraded practice today to a walk thru. There’s incredibly powerful wind gusts today in and around the practice facility.

Rams are 8-0 under McVay with more days of rest/preparation than their opponent, something they’ll have working for them again this Sunday at the Coliseum against the 49ers.

Want the #LARams to run more 2-TE sets? Your prayers may soon be answered. McVay:

“I would say that being able to get Gerald and Tyler on the field a little bit more with some of the different things we can do…it’s definitely something that you can expect to see us expand on.”

Gurley is getting the ball a little less than he has in the past so far this season. The 25-year-old back has had medical issues in the past, coming into the league with a degenerative condition in his knee, and last year didn’t end the way anyone wanted it. Put it all together, and it’s clear the Rams are trying to have him peak closer to the end of the season.

I don’t think the Rams, or Gurley himself, are 100% what sure what lays ahead and have approached it as such, which means it’s a play-it-by-ear situation.

JB, I think these 2 TE sets McVay pumped out last week vs. Seattle are going to be a game changer moving forward.

    J.B. Long@JB_Long
I’ve heard this a lot. And have an article that mentions this upcoming. Don’t disagree. However, my caution is that 2+ TEs means Cooper Kupp — far and away the Rams MVP to this point — is on the sideline.

According to Kevin Seifert of ESPN NFL coaches are 4/33 on Pass Interference challenges this year. The first 2 weeks they were 3/12. Since week 3 they are 1/21. Usually you get better with experience but either the coaches have gotten worse or the review criteria has changed.

This probably will turn into a bad, cold take, but I’m not convinced a full load of Malcolm Brown is worse for the Rams’ offense than a load-managed Gurley. I said on a recent “11 Personnel” podcast that maybe they should just leave Gurley inactive and ride Brown. So, we’ll see!

The #Rams won’t have RB Todd Gurley (quad) today, but there is a chance he’s back next week, source said. Today, Malcolm Brown is expected to be the featured back with rookie Darrell Henderson sprinkling in. It was a rough week for Gurley, 1 of 3 players evacuated for wildfires.

49ers’ TE George Kittle, a late add to the injury report with a groin injury that left him questionable for Sunday, is expected to play against the Rams, per source. But there is some concern about whether he will be able to finish the game.

    It’s a big day in L.A.
We have a 49ers-Rams game that truly means something. It’s been a while. Great perspective from

In his last three games against 49ers, Jared Goff passed for nine touchdowns, with no interceptions. Todd Gurley’s absence from lineup today against resurgent 49ers puts pressure on Goff.

    SeattleRams@seattlerams_nfl
The Rams OL is already facings talk task, if Darrell Henderson isn’t lock solid with his pass protection responsibilities, then I wouldn’t get your hopes up today. There is no way McVay will allow him to get Goff killed against this front.
