    Rams HC Sean McVay said LB Clay Matthews broke his jaw as he was trying to make a tackle on Seahawks RB Chris Carson toward the end of the game and will need surgery.

    “He’s going to be out for an extended period of time.” Not certain how long, but it will be at least a month.

    I asked Clay Matthews for an interview last night postgame. He told me he couldn’t, that his jaw hurt and he would later in the week. I had no idea that thing was broken. Pretty impressive that he didn’t just look at me and grunt.

    LB Samson Ebukam will step up in Matthews’ place.

    McVay said he thinks Matthews got kicked in the jaw by Carson.

    Ebukam’s lack of discipline and inability to contain RW allowed Russell to escape and force Talib to make a decision whether to cover or attack RW. Talib should have stayed in coverage as Littleton was in decent position to make a play.

    I can’t help but wonder what if Clay was around for that play.
