You ever wake up on Monday Wk 16 of NFL season & can barely roll out of bed? I did for over a decade. You see backups/special teams players have a concussion & scared to tell Dr. since no guarantees & worried about putting food on kids plates? No you haven’t. Stay In Your Lane==

listened to episode 1 yesterday of the new Vinnie Bonsignore/Rich Hammond 11 Personnel podcast. Good start and interesting info. VB is a bit of a homer but brings some really good insights. Their basic thoughts were (1) this is the deepest team the Rams have had under McVay and one of the deepest in the league- proven by the agonizing over roster spots 49-53, (2) the Rams’ Super Bowl hopes hinge more on the OL than anything else (and VB expressed a lot of confidence in Allen at center), (3) Gurley looks great but no one has any clue how it will play out with him through December/January and (4) people can believe Goff and McVay won’t evolve and improve at their peril…

Pats figured this out 20 years ago, and why pundits that didn’t think they could win without top receivers were sleeping on the news. Have controlled the middle of the field with RB’s, TE’s and slot receivers for a long time. https://t.co/QpgXv9AcAt

Fair or not…The biggest decision GMs are making for the 4th preseason game is how much playtime/exposure do I give a young player that I want on my practice squad.Dane Brugler@dpbrugler

Aaron Donald thinks he could have his best season ever this year and from what he’s seen in practice and the preseason, he believes the Rams look much better than the past two years….He was asked on ESPN’s “First Take” why he thinks the Rams will improve in 2019.
“You live and you learn from mistakes last year. I feel like the ups and downs we had made us that much of a stronger team and obviously, going to the Super Bowl and falling short, if that doesn’t light a fire under you, I don’t know what will. I feel like everybody’s got a different type of mindset having that experience and going through what we went through last year and adding pieces to the defense like Weddle and Clay. What I’ve been seeing at practice, I just feel like we’re looking much better than what I’ve seen last year and the past year, so I’m excited about the upcoming season.”

It’s been a rainy night in Houston. So stuck in my hotel. If anyone has any #Rams questions fire awaydo the Rams go into 2019 with just 2 QBs? Or do we see a 3rd held onto like in recent years?
Vincent Bonsignore@VinnyBonsignore
I think 2How many snaps do you expect Todd Gurley to play this year
Vincent Bonsignore@VinnyBonsignore
Carries: from the 19 or so he was getting 15 to 16. Pass targets: from the 6 he was getting to 3How does Clay Matthews look? What could the #Rams expect from him this season?
Vincent Bonsignore@VinnyBonsignore
He looks great. And he will be utilized relative to his strengths: Getting to the QB. I suspect he will produce. Not ruling out 7 to 10 sacks.how may touches a game do you think Henderson will get?
Vincent Bonsignore@VinnyBonsignore
9ishHenderson didn’t dazzle like I thought he would. Do you think he will show out with the one’s?
Vincent Bonsignore@VinnyBonsignore
Patience. (He’s good)==

FYI as players start hitting the waiver wire and where #Rams could be looking for help: OL/DL would probably be focus. But being situated where they are on the waiver wire, quality of talent is an issue.August 29, 2019 at 9:45 am #104437znModeratorfrom A look at each NFL team’s needs and surpluses heading into cut-down day
…
Los Angeles Rams
Need: Offensive lineThe Rams are set across the board at their starting positions, but they will go into 2019 walking a bit of a tight rope relative to their offensive line backups as all three projected reserves are either rookies or second-year players. And while there is confidence among Rams coaches and decision-makers that they are sufficiently covered in case of injury, it wouldn’t be the worst idea to add an experienced and proven veteran to their backup group.
Surplus: Wide receiver
With Cooper Kupp back and healthy and Josh Reynolds re-assuming his position as the Rams’ fourth receiver, it creates an enviable position of too many good wide receivers and too few spots available on the roster. The Rams, then, could look to trade someone such as Michael Thomas in order to import a more experienced offensive lineman.

Hodge is an NFL talent, no question. Unfortunately you can’t keep everyone. I think there will be a package in place for Henderson Week 1I think Thomas is locked in. Webster has really opened eyes. It’ll be interesting to see how it works out between he and Natson.
CB is a tough one to call because it’s so deep. I’d think they’d work the roster like heck trying to keep Peterson and Darious Williams.

Snead just said something revealing to Siciliano..
Snead said that he’s been receiving more calls from other teams than he’s ever received in years past. Said that he’d received 2 just during the interview!
Trade bait possibilities?
Snead complimented his scouts for finding all this talent and complimented McVay and his asst coaches for developing them, both things resulting in this deep roster.
Next 48 hours might get interesting, y’all.

JoJo Natson and Mike Thomas in street clothes as #LARams specialists take the field here in Houston. Not that this comes as a surprise, but that effectively says they’ve made the roster.
Downtown Rams [DTR]@DowntownRams
Welp it’s a shame that KhaDarel Hodge nor N’Simba Webster are going to make the 53-man roster. In favor of two guys both guys are arguably better than. However, they can go out tonight and make a statement now. Practice squad is possible but wouldn’t be shocked if Hodge is gone.Rich Hammond@Rich_Hammond
Les Snead is now advocating for no penalty flags in the second half of the fourth preseason games, and I think we should elect him governor.Cameron DaSilva@camdasilva
If you’re looking for defenders tonight who could contribute this season, watch Obo (45), Gaines (91) and Dakota Allen (51)
Oh, and Franklin-Myers (94)Appears the Rams are keeping Fox and Tanzel, too. Thought it might be one or the other.
August 29, 2019 at 11:15 pm #104468InvaderRamModeratorogbo definitely flashed. i like him. could be a good rotational guy.
