Rams RB Todd Gurley is at the team facility for mandatory minicamp, but as expected, he is not on the field for practice.

    Ryan Kartje@Ryan_Kartje
Rams OL coach Aaron Kromer said that second-year OL Jamil Demby stood out during OTA’s. He’s been practicing at all five positions along the line.

    Downtown Rams [DTR]@DowntownRams
Versatility is how you make the 53-man roster. Demby working at all 5 positions on the line is big.

    Cameron DaSilva@camdasilva
Kromer said the Rams “feel strongly” about Jamil Demby, who’s been getting work at all 5 OL spots this spring

    Vincent Bonsignore@VinnyBonsignore
Sebastian Joseph-Day is well positioned to make gains in his second year, and Rams versatility at safety will help ease Micah Kiser’s transition to starting ILB.

    Joe Curley@vcsjoecurley
Run-game coordinator Aaron Kromer says the Rams offensive line will miss the experience brought by John Sullivan and Rodger Saffold, but it helps that their potential replacements already have a year in the team’s system.

Kromer says OT Andrew Whitworth “is at the prime of his career, in my opinion.” Says it’s because his body and mind are in such great condition.

    Gary Klein@LATimesklein
Wade Phillips on Clay Matthews: “I told him he’s really only halfway through his career because his dad played 19 years.”

    Ryan Kartje@Ryan_Kartje
Rams second-year NT Sebastian Joseph-Day has “really stepped up” during OTA’s, per Wade Phillips. Sounds like he’ll definitely be in the mix w/ rookie Greg Gaines at nose.

Wade Phillips said that 2nd-year LB Micah Kiser has impressed during offseason workouts. Phillips said he’s “going in the same direction” as Cory Littleton, who went from special teams to the starting defense.

Phillips did say that, at this point in his career, Kiser is likely to be a two-down linebacker only, with Littleton as the only true, 3-down ILB

    Joe Curley@vcsjoecurley
Phillips says the Rams need LB Micah Kiser as a base defensive player right now. Will make impact on first and second down

Rams pass-game coordinator Shane Waldron says rookie RB Darrell Henderson’s addition to the running back group “adds great competition into a room that’s got a lot of talent.”

    Myles Simmons@MylesASimmons
“Great players influence other players,” he says about DT Aaron Donald. Phillips says it’s been great to have Donald at the offseason program this year for both Donald and those around him.

Coach McVay announces today’s practice is the Rams last practice of the offseason. Says he’s pleased where the team is at. Next practice is July 26 in Irvine.

Sean McVay says Jared Goff is “stuck with him” for the long term.

On Todd Gurley, McVay says the Rams continue to follow their offseason plan for the RB. He was not on the field during OTAs and minicamp, but was in facility working. Says Gurley can be expected to be on field in Irvine. “I know he feels good, he looks good.”

McVay said DL Aaron Donald was an excused absence during minicamp. Was back in Pittsburgh this week

    J.B. Long@JB_Long
As long as I’m fortunate enough to be in this role… hopefully, he’s stuck with me for a long time.

Todd Gurley was asked how the expectations surrounding his injury at Georgia compared to his current recovery. “I had bigger problems to worry about coming out of college,” Gurley said. “This is small.”

Roman Gabriel for Pro Football Hall of Fame@RGabriel4HOF
“I didn’t hit him hard enough. He got up.” Mike Curtis said when asked about his leaping tackle of quarterback Roman Gabriel. Next time your wondering why a QB’s passing stats from then don’t measure up to now, look no further.

The Patriots filed tampering charges Wednesday against the Houston Texans for the attempted general manager hire of Nick Caserio, league sources told ESPN.

The NFL now is expected to gather relevant informant to open its investigation against Houston, per sources.

The NFL’s anti-tampering policy states, “Any interference by a member club with the employer-employee relationship of another club or any attempt by a club to impermissibly induce a person to seek employment with that club or with the NFL” is impermissible.

    ProFootballTalk@ProFootballTalk
Evidence of potential tampering come from photos, videos, other proof of interactions between Texans exec @JackEasterby and Caserio at last Thursday’s Patriots ring ceremony, which happened the night before the Houston G.M. job became vacant.

    Michael Giardi@MikeGiardi
Unsurprising. The #Patriots got their hackles up in the immediate wake of the Gaine firing. Caserio is that valued, though that’s not always shown via dollars and cents. Proving tampering won’t be easy.

Btw, more than one person raised to me a comparison to Josh McDaniels last year, when Robert Kraft talked the OC into staying at the 11th hour.

According to twitter, he is the Draft and Film analyst for SB Nation’s Battle Red Blog. The “Battle Red Blog” is a Texans site, which doesn’t explain his opinion of Rams v. 9ers.

Fwiw, he also makes youtube vids. Tons of em, apparently. This is him:

the plan is to maximize the back end of the year by better controlling the front end. Everything the #Rams are doing is to put [Gurley] on a track for optimal efficiency at the end of the season.
