The Rams have started a season 3-0 on the road for the first time since 2001.

Sean McVay was walking out of the Rams’ facility at 10 pm on Thursday, six hours after practice ended, and saw Aaron Donald’s car in the lot. He went into the D-line room and caught Donald watching film of how offensive linemen set on pass plays. “When you have the talent that also matches up with the motivation, the appreciation for the process, the preparation and the approach, you get special players like him,” McVay said. “… You just walk away and say, ‘I’m sure glad that guy’s on my team.'”

Rams coach Sean McVay, asked what he still needs to see from Jared Goff: “You just want to see consistency, playing each play as its own entity. There were a couple times — and I think he’d be the first to tell you this — where whether it be in our play-action game, or some of the third downs, where he has to make better decisions with the football or go where the coverage dictates based on his progression. But what I will say — and something you can’t coach — that’s really impressive is that no matter what happens over the course of a game, he remains even-keeled.”

Todd Gurley has now rushed for over 100 yards in three of his last four games, after going 20 straight games without reaching triple digits.

The more time passes, the more unbelievable it seems that Gurley can go an entire season without 100 rushing yards. Seems like another life.

Punt return struggles and the fact he’s overpaid aside, he’s actually making a valued impact. No reason to cut him.

His money this year is guaranteed. There is no salary cap benefit to releasing him. Why cut him and pay him to do nothing.

When you can at least get some on-field benefit to keeping him. (Next year is a different story of course)

    QB Pressures WK6:
    Donald-10
    TB-10
    DET-9
    JAX-8
    NYJ-7
    LAC-5
    KC-5

Donald = 2 teams’ worth of pressures in week 6

McVay indicated (I think) that the cornerbacks were fine, injury-wise, and didn’t note any injuries out of the JAX game.

    Myles Simmons‏ @MylesASimmons
Another random Rams note from Sun, six of Gurley’s runs on 1st down went for six-to-eight yards. 4 were six yards, 1 seven, 1 eight. #LARams

This was Gurley’s biggest issue in his 1st 2 seasons. Relied on explosive gains, didn’t have enough successful runs. Totally changed in 2017

McVay didn’t rely enough on the run game in loss to SEA. He figured that out, made changes. Stuck w/ the run vs. JAX. That’s good coaching.

Wade Phillips’ ability to adapt on defense really is remarkable. From 1Q to 2Q on Sunday, #Rams D adjusted, derailed Jags offensive gameplan

Been impressed with rookie safety John Johnson so far this season, but man, he looked lost on that Fournette TD run. Brutal loss of contain.

underdogs will be 9-4 this week. Not against the spread.. underdogs will be 9-4, straight up. WEIRD YEAR.
